Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work with children, young people, or adults with special educational needs, providing support in school, childcare, or care settings.

You will possess the following skills and experience:

  • At least one year of SEN support experience in a school, childcare, or care setting;
  • Being a talented, dedicated, and highly motivated educator;
  • Supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties to enable them to effectively access the curriculum;
  • Demonstrating high levels of care, concern, and ambition for our children;
  • Having relevant skills and experience to serve a diverse student community, including learners with ASC and SEMH;
  • Being a positive team player with a good sense of humour;
  • Being committed to raising attainment and accelerating progress;
  • Supporting SEN students and delivering activities on a 1:1 and small group basis;
  • Experience in assessing, evaluating, and reporting on pupil progress.

We require the following from applicants:

  • Energetic and patient with strong classroom management skills;
  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK;
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application through GSL Education;
  • Be able to provide two professional school-based references;
