Senior Childcare Lawyer Role

Sellick Partnership Limited - Public Sector is seeking a highly skilled Senior Childcare Lawyer to join their team in Luton, Bedfordshire. As a Senior Childcare Lawyer, you will provide expert legal advice and representation to the Council in all areas of childcare law.

The ideal candidate will have previous advocacy experience and exceptional relationship building, networking, and influencing skills. In addition to this, you will ideally have experience of managing and mentoring team members. You will need to be a qualified Solicitor, barrister or FCILEx with 6 years+ PQE to apply.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive professional legal advice to Children's Services
  • Manage a portfolio of cases, including s31 Care Proceedings, Emergency Protection Orders, and advising in relation to PLO proceedings, adoption, leaving care and age assessments
  • Undertake advocacy in Luton and negotiate with clients and other professionals to secure agreed objectives
  • Provide support and guidance to the wider team and help them develop their skills
