Job Title: Systems Engineer Specialist

The successful candidate will work as a Systems Engineer Specialist in Leidos, supporting a critical national infrastructure programme. This role involves refining system and sub-system requirements with operational stakeholders, technology suppliers, and architects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Modelling of functional and non-functional requirements and scenarios using MBSE and architectural framework approaches
  • Modelling operational, business, and system designs & behaviours within architectural views
  • Define and develop requirements, proposing an architecture, system, and component definition
  • Develop component and system specifications/descriptions and compliance criteria
  • Develop functions, systems, items, and components to industry security and safety standards
  • Develop and manage requirements at all levels and ensure compliance through analysis, simulation, and/or test
  • Interface Control Documents (ICDs) / Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
  • Allocation of requirements to lower-level components and conducting technical derivation analysis
  • Maintaining the high-level design and overseeing development of lower-level designs
  • Producing detailed engineering artefacts
  • Preparing for and delivering milestone technical reviews
  • Technically engaging with the supply chain
  • Working with systems architects, mechanical systems engineers, and system simulation engineers
  • Anticipating and managing transversal technical and business issues
  • Generating technical reports and presentations
  • Developing specification documents and procedures
  • Participating in in-depth analysis of test data
  • Ensuring configuration management is in place
  • Providing general technical feedback on the design and development of mechanical and electrical sub-systems
  • Facilitating technical review sessions
  • Delivering project health status updates
  • Engaging with clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies
  • Recognizing technical risks and devising mitigation strategies
