Wokingham Borough Council is seeking dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Professionals to join our newly established children's home.

Your Role

As a Residential Childcare Professional, you will play a crucial role in providing a nurturing and supportive environment for children and young people in care. You will act as a positive influence, guiding and mentoring them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized care and support to children and young people, fostering their emotional well-being and development.
  • Build strong relationships with the children, understanding their unique needs and experiences.
  • Ensure the safety and security of all residents within the home, responding promptly to any concerns or emergencies.
  • Collaborate with a team of professionals, including social workers, therapists, and educators, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
Candidate Requirements
  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport and trust with residents and colleagues.
  • Experience in a residential care setting or a related field is highly desirable.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
