We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Co-Founder in Residence, focusing on water management and industrial water solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our team at Deep Science Ventures and contribute to the development of innovative solutions to address water scarcity in industry.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies to reduce water consumption and improve water management in industrial settings
- Collaborate with our team to identify and develop new technologies and solutions to address water scarcity
- Work closely with industry partners to understand their water management challenges and develop tailored solutions
- Contribute to the development of business plans and pitches for new ventures focused on water management and industrial water solutions
- Participate in the creation and spin-out of new companies, taking a majority equity stake in the new venture
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A PhD or equivalent industry R&D experience in a relevant field, such as industrial water management, hydrology, or environmental studies
- In-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies and constraints in areas such as thermodynamics, atmospheric dynamics, geochemistry, or material science
- Broad knowledge of water logistics and transportation infrastructure
- Industry-specific know-how, commercial knowledge, and network within the water management and related industries
- Experience in building and scaling new technologies from concept to demonstration
- Experience in raising funds from early-stage investors/VC
- Experience in building and scaling a high-growth enterprise (leadership/C-suite roles)
As a Co-Founder in Residence at Deep Science Ventures, you will have access to:
- Optimized, purpose-built, proprietary tools, resources, and processes to help create high-impact ventures from scratch
- Opportunity area-specific know-how from our network of Partners and Advisors
- Up to £250k in investment to incorporate the new venture and develop early proof-of-concept data
- Guaranteed income of £4,166 per month paid as a consultancy fee until the company is launched and the pre-seed investment is secured
- Majority equity stake in the new company for you and your co-founders
- Continuous post-spinout support, including fundraising, commercial partnerships, recruitment, and team-building
- Collaborative support from dozens of Founders currently at DSV across sectors
