Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist our Chefs in preparing simple meals and ancillary items for service, adhering to our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Wash dishes by hand or load the dishwasher, storing clean items neatly and safely to minimize breakages.
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floors to ensure they are free from grease or spillage.
  • Wash worktables, walls, kitchen equipment, and appliances, adhering to our cleaning schedules.
  • Operate kitchen equipment and transfer items safely between storage and work areas.
  • Ensure the kitchen is kept tidy and left secure, with rubbish removed and all supplies stored in the correct place.
  • Adhere to our company's Food Safety and Health and Safety policies at all times, maintaining all records outlined in the HACCP policy.

Requirements:

We are looking for someone with an understanding of Health and Safety and knowledge of maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment. An up-to-date CIEH Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent) and previous experience of working in a catering department or kitchen would be advantageous. Ideally, you have some knowledge of working in a care environment and stock control, along with the ability to prepare simple meals. You should be organized and adaptable, with the ability to work well within a team and under your own initiative.
