Mechanical Engineer Role Overview

Orion Electrotech is recruiting for an experienced Field Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Northampton.

This is a field service role that requires the right candidate to attend mechanical breakdowns within 30 miles of the area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of plant machinery, including reactive and planned maintenance tasks
  • Maintenance of indoor hoists, cranes, and lifting equipment
  • Attending call-outs for machinery maintenance and ensuring all work is carried out using the CMMS system correctly
  • Supporting the commissioning and installation team with mechanical installations and equipment upgrades
  • Maintenance of hydraulics and pneumatics

Requirements:

  • Mechanical Engineering qualification
  • UK driver's license
  • IPASS certificate
  • Desirable: LOLER qualification and experience with PPM and CMMS systems
  • Field service and maintenance experience, with a strong understanding of mechanical drawings
  • Experience with heavy industrial plant machinery and equipment, as well as manufacturing and production machinery
  • Industry experience in food, feed, beverage, automotive, or volume manufacturing
