Linux Systems Engineer

About the Role:
As a Senior Linux Engineer at u-blox, you will play a key role in the development, integration, and maintenance of our Linux-based services, systems, and infrastructures. You will work closely with our multinational IT team to design, implement, and optimize Linux solutions that meet our business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement Linux architectures that meet company guidelines, security standards, and best practices.
- Assist in the patch strategy for related systems and technologies, and help design, implement, test, and document new solutions.
- Analyze and optimize the performance of Linux solutions, and assist in building a global roadmap for relevant technologies and processes.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and develop support materials for teams that will support the solution.
- Manage IT requests and incidents, ensuring security and compliance in cooperation with the respective team of experts.
- Collaborate with external consultants regarding configuration, customization, and integration.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, and assist with training and related materials as needed.
- Maintain the development, test, and production environments.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience working with Linux in an engineering role.
- Knowledge of configuration management tools like Foreman, Satellite, Orcharhino, Landscape, and Red Hat Hybrid Cloud Console.
- Experience and knowledge within the cloud space, preferably AWS.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and ability to manage complex projects in a multinational environment.
- Experience with automation using Ansible.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience in end-user training and support.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
