Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Project Accounting Specialist to join our team at Ultra Precision Control Systems.

The estimated salary for this role is £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Job

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for managing project accounting activities, ensuring compliance with relevant IFRS revenue recognition principles, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business growth.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Accounting Quality and Compliance: Ensure accounting practices meet high standards of quality, accuracy, and timeliness, adhering to relevant IFRS revenue recognition principles.
  • Risk Assessment and Opportunity Identification: Identify risks and opportunities, performing rate impact analysis, and understanding impacts of changes on program baselines and EACs.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with Program Management, Commercial, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to ensure alignment, timely forecasting, and risk management.
  • Financial Reporting and Leadership: Provide regular financial reports and insights to senior program leadership teams, supporting informed decision-making.
  • Cost Audit and Compliance: Conduct financial cost audits to ensure compliance with required accounting requirements.
  • Working Capital Optimization: Collaborate with program managers to optimize working capital across the project portfolio.
  • Internal Controls and Process Improvement: Develop and maintain robust internal controls and processes within the finance function.
  • Management of Project Accounting Team: Supervise a project accounting resource.

About You

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • Relevant Accounting Experience: Proven experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering setting.
  • Government Cost Audit Knowledge: Familiarity with government cost audits.
  • ERP System Proficiency: Strong understanding of ERP systems and their integration with accounting practices.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
