About the Role

The Student Voice Coordinator will contribute to developing a student voice and insights function at Regent College London. The role holder will take the lead in delivering student representation, promoting student surveys and working with stakeholders to engage students in university life.

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate who wants to contribute to the creation and development of an entirely new function, and who wishes to utilise their skills in volunteer engagement and event management.

The Student Voice Coordinator will work closely with the Head of Student Experience to ensure that the student voice is represented and heard across the college. The role will involve managing student voice campaigns and activities, providing leadership to the wider team's approaches to student representative activities, and working with stakeholders to promote student engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to developing and delivering inclusive academic communities across the student lifecycle, including targeted activities to support identified student groups to engage with College decision-making.
  • Manage student voice campaigns and activities that facilitate student involvement in surveys, focus groups and consultations, ensuring that students feel empowered to make change.
  • Provide leadership to the wider team's approaches to student representative activities, ensuring that approaches to working with students as volunteers/casual employees/mentors are effectively and appropriately supported and delivered.
  • Working with the Head of Student Experience, Quality and other stakeholders, have oversight of the student representation system and manage recruitment, training and engagement.
  • Coordinate school-based student voice initiatives, including staff-student liaison committees, by managing scheduling, membership, promotion, action tracking, and analysis of student feedback across the three schools.
  • Support student voice events and engagement activities with the student president and representatives, liaising with services and departments across the college where necessary.
  • Monitor, analyse and report on the performance and effectiveness of events and engagement activities, making evidenced recommendations for improvements and change.
  • Work with the Head of Student Experience to develop our student experience strategy continually.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

  • Relevant work experience and/or education: We think a wide range of different work and educational experiences could support you to be successful in this role. Relevant work experience might include work in quality assurance/student voice in higher education, or work within a volunteering/events team in large and complex organisations. Relevant educational experiences might include higher education in a related discipline, professional qualifications or other training.
  • Experience in leading the planning and delivery of effective small and large-scale events and engagement activities for diverse audiences, in alignment with a defined strategy.
  • Experience in leading peer-led projects and/or managing volunteers/mentors.
  • Experience in managing feedback mechanisms and an understanding of the importance of the student voice within Higher Education.
  • Experience in collaborating well with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, showing diplomacy, tact and influencing skills.
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and report on quantitative and qualitative data, with strong presentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to break complex information down for a range of audiences.
  • Effective knowledge of key programmes in the Microsoft Office suite like Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Experience in facilitating and running focus groups/discussion forums.
  • Ability to use CRM or similar systems for marketing/digital engagement campaigns.
  • An understanding of the HE regulatory environment, specifically the conditions of Office for Students registration and Access & Participation Plans as they relate to this area of work.
  • An understanding of the diverse make-up of our student population, especially how the lived experience of students from underrepresented backgrounds is affected by structural inequality in higher education.
