At Energy Aspects, we are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our Earth Observation team in London.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on developing novel products for the oil & gas industry using your expertise in machine learning and data analysis.

You will be responsible for identifying areas where AI can drive significant business benefits and helping to prioritise projects that align with company goals.

We require a strong technical skillset, including experience with image processing, computer vision, and machine learning models. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to effectively present your ideas and solutions to senior leaders.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of software development best practices and be familiar with Python modules such as GDAL, OpenCV, and Scikit-Learn.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop end-to-end EO applications in collaboration with internal or external oil & gas experts
  2. Turn ideas into practical project plans and proof-of-concept implementations
  3. Communicate effectively with senior leaders, capturing requirements and translating them into actionable solutions
Requirements
  • 2+ years' experience in applying image processing/computer vision to real-world business applications
  • Practical experience with ML models for image processing tasks (object detection, image segmentation)
  • Intermediate or above Python skillset, familiar with object-oriented development and software development best practices
  • Working knowledge of the Python modules: GDAL, OpenCV, Numpy, Scikit-Learn, Matplotlib, Pandas, GeoPandas
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with senior leadership
