Assistant Merchandiser

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Merchandiser to join our dynamic team at Joules. As a key member of our Merchandising department, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement seasonal range frameworks using sales and profit analysis to predict future opportunities.
- Work closely with the Merchandising team to ensure the range is delivered to hit financial plans, adjusting as required as the critical path progresses.
- Monitor performance of the range against the original plan through reforecasting and take action to drive additional opportunity and minimize risk.
- Be accountable for department plans and accuracy across all systems and data points.
- Present plans to key decision makers in critical path meetings using reasoned arguments and rationale to deliver sign-off of their plans.
- Work with Suppliers to share seasonal strategies and plans, communicating and updating regularly on business levels.
- Collaborate with the Buyers to ensure on-time, profitable ranges.
- Oversee trading for the department, taking product actions into current and future seasons.
- Optimize the current season through OTB management and proactively address terminal stock risk, determining the most profitable solutions.
- Hold accountability for Department WSSI, driving business-wide visibility of all KPIs (Sales, Margin, Stock, Markdown, Intake).
- Ensure markdown items are identified and prices agreed within parameters.
- Bachelor's degree in Buying, Merchandising, or Fashion.
- Demonstrated ability and experience through an Assistant Merchandising or prior experience as a Merchandiser in a fashion business.
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
- High standard of commercial acumen and analytical skills with an ability to interpret facts and figures to identify risks and opportunities.
- Excellent planning and organization skills with a high level of attention to detail alongside ability to plan and prioritize your own and team's workload effectively.
- A genuine interest in fashion.
- Able to adapt, at speed, to the needs of the business and the customer.
- Proactive approach and ability to show initiative to seize opportunities, achieving better results for business benefit.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and influencing skills.
