Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Management Accountant role is designed to foster growth and development of finance talent. As a key member of the finance team, you will support the production of accurate monthly management accounts and contribute to process improvements in management accounting and related finance processes.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the timely production of monthly management accounts in line with agreed deadlines.
  • Ensure the accuracy and robustness of the accounts by completing checks and balances.
  • Input manual journal entries, including accruals and prepayments, and prepare reports for budget holders.
  • Prepare variance analysis against budget with supporting commentary.
  • Maintain balance sheet reconciliations to the agreed timetable and investigate discrepancies with Management Accountants.
  • Support Management Accountants and Group Finance Manager with ad-hoc analysis.
  • Assist with the annual audit process and compile data for statutory accounts and external filings.
  • Owning processes for rebates and royalties' accruals to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support the Management Accountant on Retail, including ownership of salary accruals, and produce turnover certificates for retail stores.
  • Future scope to support budgeting and forecasting processes.
