Job Summary

Sewell Wallis is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk to join our team in the finance function. As a central cog in the wider finance team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining client and matter data integrity within the billing system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and matter data within the billing system, including hourly charge-out rates for fee earners.
  • Vet new client and matter requests against a multitude of risk and compliance, finance, and client-specific rules to ensure accurate and timely data transfer.
  • Prioritize different workstreams using a ticketing system to meet team and firm service level agreements.
  • Liaise with partners, fee earners, and other finance functions globally to facilitate a seamless process from client/matter inception to billing and cash collection.
  • Assist the commercial finance team in maintaining panel rate agreements with key clients and conducting yearly rate increases to ensure profitability.
  • Collaborate with other data teams to cleanse the billing system of historically inaccurate or duplicated data.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Solid understanding of basic math and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manipulate monetary amounts.
  • Ability to analyze letters, emails, and spreadsheets to identify key points and errors.
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize workload to meet service level agreements.
  • Desire to ask questions, think outside the box, and suggest process improvements.
  • Willingness to perform routine data cleansing tasks.
  • Confidence in making decisions and taking responsibility for them.
