Job Overview

Viberoptix Ltd is a dynamic telecommunications company that delivers cutting-edge services to fibre network providers across the UK and Ireland. As the business continues to grow, we are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Splicing Planner.

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual who has the ambition to succeed and progress within the company. The successful candidate will be based in a regional office and will be responsible for planning and executing splicing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Pre-Siting and Planning: Plan and coordinate splicing work, including job requirements, permits, and traffic management.
  2. Liaison and Coordination: Liaise with permits and TTRO support, as well as traffic management coordinators, to ensure all road closures, permits, and traffic management requirements are in place.
  3. Site Support: Provide assistance to splicers on site, including acting as the second person on the job for duties such as pit lid lifts, attending with a tripod to assist with works in a BT manhole, and ensuring PIA compliance.
  4. Site Assessment and Compliance: Assess sites and ensure site set-ups are correct, and all compliance documents are complete and accurate, such as site-specific risk assessments.
  5. Reporting and Analysis: Provide reports on site compliance within the splicing team.
  6. Cable Management: Liaise with Cable teams and managers to assess where cable is located and ready for splicing.
  7. Design Notification: Identify and notify the design department of joint locations and amendments where required.
  8. General Support: Provide general support to the splicing team, including support on splicing and testing.
  9. Health and Safety: Ensure relevant Health & Safety standards are followed and achieved.
Requirements
  1. Technical Skills: Ability to produce, update, and interpret records of daily work logs, data recordings, and network design maps.
  2. Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work on their own as well as part of a team.
  3. Experience and Qualifications: Experience of testing and splicing on a Fibre network, and a full valid driving licence.
  4. Leadership and Organisation: Excellent organisation, communication, and leadership skills.
  5. Software Proficiency: Experience of using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
