Orthoptist Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Orthoptist to join our team at Northampton General Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients referred to the Orthoptic department as an autonomous practitioner.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of complex orthoptic practice and procedures, and will be able to work effectively in a team environment. They will also be self-motivated and able to analyse clinical data and formulate management plans.
The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing and negotiating the implementation of care packages with individual patients and their carers, and will be able to carry out visual field testing, OCTs, and measure IOPs as part of the glaucoma monitoring service.
Key Skills and Qualifications- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Strong understanding of complex orthoptic practice and procedures
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Self-motivated and able to analyse clinical data and formulate management plans
- Ability to instruct and negotiate the implementation of care packages with individual patients and their carers
