Role Overview

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the role include management of the design team, providing direction, guidance, monitoring, and reporting, covering LV to 33kV. This also involves supporting the development of the Electricity team's design capability up to 33kV, collaboratively developing training plans and associated systems. Additionally, the role requires ensuring all design reporting to regulatory bodies is adhered too, maintaining & developing relationships with Independent Connection Providers, Distribution Network Operators & BUUK stakeholders. Furthermore, the successful candidate will support Senior Design Engineers with completing complex network demand calculations and design points of connection (POCs) from existing electric networks to provide technical solutions and quotations for 3rd party POC applications. Another important aspect of the role is assisting all BUUK Departmental Managers in development of greater efficiency within the Company to promote continuous improvement to GTC Electrical Design procedures.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should possess a Higher National Certificate in Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent qualification. You should also hold IEng in Electrical Engineering (or working towards). Experience and knowledge of policies, standards, commissioning and Health & Safety in power distribution are essential. Additionally, experience supporting multiple project delivery teams in High Voltage electrical design distribution networks is required. A Full UK Driving Licence is also necessary.
