About the RoleWe are seeking a Downstream Chemical Engineer with experience in chemicals mainly in olefins, aromatics, and synthetic rubber manufacturing to join our Affiliates Manufacturing Excellence Department (AMED). AMED is a multifunctional business unit that oversees the operational performance of affiliates, manages health, safety, security, and environment (HSSE), and facilitates driving manufacturing excellence across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical expertise in conducting benchmarking and analyzing the performance of Global Manufacturing chemicals assets.
- Support in closing the performance gaps identified in the benchmarking process.
- Administer Solomon benchmarking studies for Global Manufacturing facilities.
- Collect, verify, and review data quality during benchmarking in Global Manufacturing Affiliates facilities.
- Document findings and recommendations for presentation to Global Manufacturing management and affiliates.
- Lead the planning and execution of solutions to address identified performance gaps.
- Create expense/margin optimization plans for Global Manufacturing Affiliates facilities.
- Coordinate with affiliates to establish performance targets and track progress using Solomon metrics.
- Develop regular benchmarking reports with Solomon metrics for all Global Manufacturing affiliates facilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in refinery and/or chemical process units, with at least 5 years specializing in Solomon benchmarking and metric analysis.
- Essential working knowledge of refinery and chemical industry process plant characteristics.
- Proficiency in data analysis and data visualization tools is essential.
