Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Supported Accommodation Officer. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to residents in our accommodation services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Maintain Relationships

Establish and maintain professional relationships with residents to help them achieve their goals, such as securing permanent housing, accessing training and employment opportunities, and improving their overall well-being.

Support Planning and Coordination

Work with residents to develop personalized support plans, focusing on their strengths and needs, and provide guidance on how to access local services and resources.

Advocacy and Liaison

Act as an advocate for residents, liaising with external agencies and organizations to ensure they receive the support and services they need.

Health and Wellbeing

Encourage residents to prioritize their health and wellbeing, including registering with a local GP and accessing healthcare services.

Resettlement and Transition

Support residents in their transition to independent living, working closely with our Resettlement team to develop and implement resettlement plans.

Accommodation Management

Ensure the efficient running of our accommodation services, including managing household supplies, arranging repairs and maintenance, and maintaining a clean and secure environment.

Financial Management

Manage the financial aspects of our accommodation services, including ensuring residents understand their accommodation charges and making timely payments.

Compliance and Reporting

Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, including maintaining accurate records and reporting any incidents or concerns.

Requirements
  • Experience and Skills

Previous experience of working with vulnerable adults, particularly those experiencing homelessness, is essential. You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, colleagues, and external agencies.

Personal Qualities

You will be a compassionate and empathetic individual, with a strong commitment to supporting people in need. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to your work.

Education and Training

A relevant qualification in a field such as social work, counseling, or a related discipline would be advantageous.
