About the Role
The AWS Generative AI Innovation Center is seeking a highly skilled Applied Scientist to join our team. As an Applied Scientist, you will be responsible for designing and developing advanced machine learning models to solve diverse challenges and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with ML scientists and architects to research, design, develop, and evaluate cutting-edge generative AI algorithms to address real-world challenges across industries.
- Interact with customers directly to understand the business problem and help them define and implement generative AI solutions.
- Work closely with account teams, research scientist teams, and product engineering teams to drive model implementations and new solutions.
- Create and deliver best practice recommendations, scientific artefacts, tutorials, blog posts, sample code, and presentations adapted to technical, business, and executive stakeholders.
About the Team
The team helps customers imagine and scope the use cases that will create the greatest value for their businesses, select and fine-tune the right models, define paths to navigate technical or business challenges, develop proof-of-concepts, and make plans for launching solutions at scale.

Requirements
- PhD degree in CS, CE, or related technical field or MSc and several years of industry experience.
- Several years of experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning.
- Hands-on experience building models with deep learning frameworks like MXNet, Tensorflow, or PyTorch.
- Strong communication skills, with attention to detail and ability to convey rigorous technical concepts and considerations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven knowledge of Generative AI and hands-on experience of building applications with large foundation models.
- Proven knowledge of AWS platform and tools.
- Hands-on experience of building ML solutions on AWS.
- Experience in professional software development.
- Scientific thinking and the ability to invent, a track record of thought leadership and contributions that have advanced the field.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work environment.
