Architectural Technician Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Architectural Technician to join our team at Pettigrew Recruitment Group Limited. As an Architectural Technician, you will play a key role in managing residential developments and working closely with stakeholders to bring projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Run projects from inception to completion, delivering high-quality designs and graphic communication.
  • Design and Drawing: Prepare designs, drawings, and illustrations using AutoCAD.
  • Planning and Building Warrant Applications: Obtain planning and building warrant applications for residential schemes.
  • Energy Calculations and EPCs: Complete energy calculations and EPCs for new build dwellings.
  • Technical Specifications: Produce and monitor technical/construction specifications.
  • Adoptions Team Support: Work as part of the adoptions team providing technical assistance to drive adoptions.
  • Feasibility Layouts: Produce feasibility layouts for land appraisals.
  • House Type Portfolio Management: Manage the house type portfolio, construction, and structural engineer detailing.
  • Design Risk Assessments: Produce design risk assessments.
  • Detailed Design Drawings: Undertake detailed design drawings for developments and house types.
  • Drawings and Specifications: Ensure the preparation of all drawings, details, and specifications necessary for start on site.
  • Knowledge and Compliance: Have a good knowledge of Planning procedures, Building Regulations, NHBC standards, adoption processes, and the overall technical process.
  • Fee Proposals: Review and manage fee proposals from external consultants.
  • Sustainability: Have an understanding of sustainability issues.
  • NHBC Registrations: Ensure all NHBC (and other warrantor) registrations are secured and conditions are discharged in a timely manner.
  • CDM Procedures: Ensure compliance with CDM procedures.
  • Technical Information Distribution: Ensure the prompt distribution of all technical information to other business disciplines.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience within the housebuilding industry in an associated design role and be familiar with AutoCAD. You will be a self-starter, enjoy working to deadlines, and be good at building relationships with all stakeholders.
