Bar Operations Manager - San Carlo Group

We are seeking a highly skilled Bar Operations Manager to join our team at San Carlo Group.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Bar Manager in the efficient running of the bar department, undertaking all Bar Manager responsibilities in their absence, and ensuring that all Bar consumables are kept to par and are within budget spend.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Bar Manager in the efficient running of the bar department
  • Undertake all Bar Manager responsibilities in their absence
  • Monitor and drive Spend Per Head in the bar department
  • Effectively organise and run shifts as a duty manager
  • Ensure that all Bar consumables are kept to par and are within budget spend
  • Take responsibility for all Bar stock control including, wastage, ordering, invoicing, stock levels and maintenance in the bar department
  • Ensure a two-week rota is available for the Bar team at all times, working a month in advance for forecast rota
  • Ensure that team staff levels are assessed weekly and actively recruit if needed
  • Take a lead on all Bar recruitment and ensure an excellent candidate experience throughout the process
  • Onboarding of new staff, including full restaurant training and all CPL compliance is completed
  • Ensure the bar department has an up to date Talent Pipeline with training needs and succession plans
  • Ensure health checks are conducted once a month with an action plan produced and delegated amongst the team to ensure completion
  • Ensure all Health & Safety policies are met, including all legislative and licencing requirements

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Team management experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail, highly organised and capable of handling multiple tasks
  • A proactive self-starter who can work independently with good judgement and minimal direction
