About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Veolia Water Technologies UK. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for the mechanical design of water processing plants, working closely with clients and internal design engineers to ensure compliance and integration of mechanical elements into the overall plant design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage workload to achieve design deliverables required of the project/tender
  • Liaise with clients and internal design engineers to ensure compliance and integration of mechanical elements
  • Work with CAD designers and other design engineers to create and evolve P+ID, General Arrangement, and detailed drawings
  • Prepare and maintain schedules that define the plant design
  • Review supply-chain design documentation and integrate into the wider plant design
  • Undertake Design Risk Assessment and capture the outcome
Requirements
  • Formal education in Mechanical Engineering (Apprenticeship, HNC/HND, or BEng/MEng Degree)
  • Proven track record of 7+ years of experience within the municipal or industrial wastewater sectors
  • Chartered registration (CEng) in Mechanical Engineering an advantage
  • Knowledge and experience of equipment and technologies used commonly within the water treatment industry
  • Ability to visit customers' sites to assist with performance issues and commissioning
  • Capable of specifying and coordinating work allocated to local teams and remotely between globally extended teams
  • Proficient in Autodesk mechanical modeling software and data management tools
