Spencer Clarke Group is seeking a dedicated Children's Rights Advocate to join their team in East London.
This role involves advocating for the rights and voices of looked after children and care leavers, ensuring their wishes and feelings are represented in decision-making processes while providing essential support and information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to children and young people.
- Inform children and young people about their rights and entitlements, guiding them in accessing available services and resources.
- Attend meetings with or on behalf of children and young people to advocate for their views and assist in the resolution of any complaints.
- Conduct return from missing interviews with young people, helping to identify risks and develop safety plans.
- Work closely with allocated Social Work Units to promote children's perspectives, mediating conflicts and facilitating discussions.
About You:
- Experience in providing advocacy for children and young people, ensuring their voices are represented in decision-making.
- Experience working in social care, youth work, or a related field, particularly with vulnerable children and young people.
- Experience in supporting children and young people in crisis situations and facilitating conflict resolution.
- Familiarity with legislation relating to children and young people's rights and services, including the Children's Act and advocacy standards.
What's on Offer:
- Salary: £23+ph
- Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
