Operations Manager

DP World is seeking an experienced professional to lead a team in the delivery of a fast-paced distribution fulfillment service for e-commerce customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring customer service levels are met, achieving productivity levels in line with agreed KPIs, and promoting a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of Team Leaders and Operatives in the delivery of a fast-paced distribution fulfillment service
- Achieve productivity levels in line with agreed KPIs
- Ensure Team Leader and Team Member understanding of safe working practices and adherence to safe working methods and countermeasures
- Manage succession planning and support cross-training amongst the teams to foster a multi-skilled workforce culture
- Ensure effective manpower planning is completed daily, increase area versatility with robust training plans
- Manage headcount balance between permanent and temporary labor in the area, deal with individual performance issues within 24 hours of incident
- Investigate, document, and take appropriate action for issues under the Company's disciplinary and grievance policy and procedure
- Ensure quality is kept in line with six sigma to achieve the required DPM rate
- Maintain the 5S program up to date
- Keep a daily communication channel open with other functions like Inventory, Admin, etc.
- Strong previous leadership experience in fast-paced warehouse/fulfillment type environments
- Highly numerate and IT literate with excellent communication skills
- Team player with a hands-on approach
- Flexibility to cover weekends and late deliveries when required
- Strong communication skills with carriers and customers
- Warehouse operations knowledge
