Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Renal Specialist Dietitian to join our team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality nutritional care to patients with complex renal needs in inpatient and outpatient settings, including dialysis units.
  • Supervise, educate, and develop designated Band 5 staff, and contribute to the training of students.
  • Implement evidence-based practice and participate in service development, quality improvement projects, and audit.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver training materials to various audiences.
Requirements
  • 1 year of experience in a relevant field.
  • NHS experience and HCPC registration.
  • Attendance on relevant accredited courses and training in leadership and development.
  • Demonstrated specialist clinical knowledge in renal dietetics and decision-making for enteral/parenteral feeding.
  • Experience in service development, treatment pathways, and outcomes improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including observation, listening, caring, and empathy.
  • Ability to assess individuals with complex medical problems and plan their dietetic care.
  • Ability to make decisions regarding practice change based on clinical evidence and disseminate to other health professionals.
  • Able to implement research evidence-based practice and apply to practice for continuous service improvement.
  • Ability to problem-solve and travel to other hospital sites and community locations.
