Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Drainage Design Engineer to join our team at Kier Group. As a key member of our Design & Business Services team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of drainage systems for various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement drainage design strategies for projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Civil and Structural Engineering, to ensure seamless design and delivery of projects.
  • Conduct site surveys and inspections to gather data and inform design decisions.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, drawings, and design models to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities, sewer operators, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in designing drainage systems, with a strong understanding of CIRIA C753 SuDS Manual guidance.
  • Experience in making applications for sewer adoptions and preparing Level 1 and 2 flood risk assessment reports.
  • Strong technical knowledge of drainage design, including sustainable drainage strategies and flood risk assessment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Professional qualifications in Civil Engineering or Environmental Sciences, such as BSc, MSc, BEng, or MEng, and membership of relevant institutions, such as the Institution of Civil Engineers or Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management.
