We are seeking a skilled Sewing Machinist to join our team at Storm Recruitment (Swindon) Ltd. As a key member of our atelier, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of garments and other articles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain sewing machines and other equipment to produce high-quality garments and other articles.
  • Alter or repair customers' garments and other articles, including hemming, mending, lengthening, and taking in and letting out seams.
  • Construct garments and other articles, and record the necessary alterations.
  • Use irons and pressing machines to ensure garments and other articles are presented to the highest standard.
  • Report any complaints, accidents, equipment malfunctions, maintenance faults, suspicious persons, safety hazards, or other incidents to the supervisor or duty manager.
  • Understand and follow all objectives, standards, policies, and procedures outlined by your manager.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a seamstress or tailoring is essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced atelier with a calm, positive, and problem-solving attitude.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety standards.
  • Ability to work with a variety of fabrics and materials, including delicate and high-end textiles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship.
  • Safety and legal compliance are a must.
