About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Major Gifts Officer to join our fundraising team at Combat Stress, the UK's leading charity for veteran's mental health.

As a Senior Major Gifts Officer, you will play a critical role in securing gifts of £5,000 and upwards from individuals, helping to build a revenue 'pipeline' of new supporters and enabling us to provide life-changing treatment to former servicemen and women.

You will work closely with our passionate supporters to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies, leveraging your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships and secure significant donations.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a deep understanding of philanthropy, excellent relationship-building skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies to secure gifts of £5,000 and upwards from individuals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our passionate supporters, understanding their interests and goals to tailor fundraising approaches.
  • Work collaboratively with the fundraising team to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan, aligning with the charity's overall strategy.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities for major gifts, leveraging your network and expertise to secure significant donations.
  • Provide excellent stewardship to donors, ensuring they feel valued and appreciated for their support.
