Manufacturing Engineer Job Opportunity

Are you a skilled mechanical engineer looking for a challenging role in the automotive retail industry? We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at the Institute of the Motor Industry. limited.


Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support our manufacturing process. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing, designing, and implementing production processes, as well as creating build documentation sets and resolving issues to maintain product integrity.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain production processes and procedures.
  • Implement process improvement activities to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Support new product introduction, ensuring effective collaboration between Engineering & Production.
  • Gather relevant production data throughout the New Product Development process.
  • Maintain production process documentation.
  • Design and implement tools or equipment to improve the production process.
  • Design and implement production flow lines, factory floorplans, and modular workstations.
  • Facilitate Engineering changes, generate engineering documentation, and support the Engineering change process.
  • Contribute to the Design for Manufacture process.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a HNC or HND or Degree in mechanical engineering or a similar field, with experience in a bespoke fabrication & assembly environment. The ideal candidate will have the ability to generate clear production assembly work instructions, experience of developing production flow lines, and knowledge of industrial engineering or project engineering.
