At Tarmac, we're committed to creating a dynamic and inclusive environment where our people can thrive. We're currently seeking a Relief Plant Supervisor - Readymix to join our fantastic Readymix team based out of our Tarmac Coleford Concrete Plant in Forest of Dean.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the RMX Production Manager in managing plant compliance with business policies and procedures across multiple sites.
- Batching concrete to meet customer needs while ensuring internal quality requirements are met.
- Ensuring Readymix deliveries are met, engaging with Readymix Distribution Teams throughout.
- Working closely with Readymix Technical Teams to ensure quality control of all products.
- Haulier management - coordinating collection loads daily.
- Supervising Contractors (no direct reports).
- Ensuring legislative compliance is a strong aspect of the role.
- Overseeing all aspects of daily production, including operational costs and control stocks.
- Taking responsibility for their own safety and that of colleagues, contractors, and business partners.
- Maintaining site housekeeping to a high standard.
- Experience in plant operations, preferably within a Ready Mix / Aggregates environment.
- Actively identify and implement site and process improvements.
- Happy to multitask and manage change.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Superb attention to detail.
- Engage with stakeholders at all levels (both internally and externally).
- Good time management skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to ensure delivery of customer requirements and workload priorities.
- Enjoy working as part of a team and be able to motivate others.
- Full knowledge of Risk Assessments and Safe System of Work Systems, as well as working knowledge of H&S and Environmental policies.
- Working knowledge of production processes.
- IOSH Managing Safely (preferred but we will train).
- NVQ in fixed and mobile plant operations (preferred but we will train).
