About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Relief Security Officer to join our dynamic team at Gloucester Quays. As a Relief Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of employees, customers, and visitors, while also providing exceptional customer service.

In this role, you will be the first line of defence, monitoring CCTV, managing access, and assisting visitors. Your professionalism, vigilance, and customer service skills are essential in creating a safe and welcoming environment. With 42 hours per week, you will have the opportunity to be hands-on and proactive, all while earning a competitive £12.60 per hour.

As a Relief Security Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Preventing and deterring unauthorised access to site
  • Monitoring fire alarms, intruder alarms, and CCTV as appropriate
  • Conducting external and internal security patrols
  • Providing traffic control and applying parking restrictions as required
  • Carrying out routine tests of security equipment
  • Managing keys and performing locking and unlocking duties
  • Ensuring equipment is managed in accordance with procedures
  • Maintaining logbooks and records
  • Issuing visitor/contractor passes
  • Dealing with lost property
  • Providing support, guidance, and information to staff, visitors, and contractors
  • Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed
  • Reporting faults, health and safety hazards, and unsafe working practices
  • Notifying the Securitas Operations Centre in the event of emergencies
  • Investigating the cause of fire alarm activations
  • Reporting instances of property at risk of being lost, stolen, damaged, or vandalised
  • Operating radios, pagers, clocking equipment, and other physical security equipment
  • Operating customer 'stop and search' policies when required
  • Carrying out initial investigations and reporting incidents, suspicious activities, objects, and vehicles
  • Displaying an outstanding level of customer service
  • Ensuring all paperwork is completed in a timely fashion and conducting effective handover procedures
Essential Skills
  • SIA Licence
  • 5 Year checkable work history and supporting Right to work documents
  • Reasonable commuting distance
  • A firm grasp of English, both Written and Spoken
  • Outstanding Customer Service
