Senior Sample Machinist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Sample Machinist & Fitter to join our team at Emilia Wickstead. As a key member of our Atelier, you will play a crucial role in supporting our growing team and contributing to the creation of high-quality, bespoke bridal gowns and luxury women's wear.
Key Responsibilities- Produce high-quality first samples with exceptional finishing techniques and skills.
- Collaborate closely with garment technologists, in-house machinists, and store consultants to ensure all garments meet the desired standards.
- Advise product developers and pattern cutters on potential construction issues and provide expert guidance on garment construction.
- Ensure all products are crafted to the highest quality standards, adhering to our company's commitment to excellence.
- Alter various types of women's clothing, including bespoke bridal dresses, with precision and attention to detail.
- Conduct quality control checks and inspect garments to verify pristine condition before final delivery to clients.
- Participate in weekly in-store fittings with RTW, VIC, and VIP clients, ensuring a seamless and professional experience.
- Be highly presentable in-store on fitting days, maintaining a clean and organized appearance.
- Take detailed notes and photos of client alterations required, communicating clearly and effectively with clients.
- Liaise with the Head of MTO and MTMB to prepare for fitting days, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized alterations room, adhering to our company's high standards.
- Press, steam, and spot clean garments and merchandise as needed, ensuring they are presented in pristine condition.
- Perform quality control checks and inspect garments on the shop floor and before final delivery to clients.
- Carry out other duties assigned by Store Management on fitting days, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience working with bridal wear or couture and high-end luxury women's wear.
- Extensive knowledge of garment construction, including luxury fabrics such as silk twill, double satin, silk satin, chiffon, crepe, and lace.
- Expertise in lace appliqué and veiling techniques.
- Excellent understanding of fit and garment construction, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to work at peak times and manage workload accordingly.
