Job Role:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer Apprentice, you will be responsible for producing high-quality drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD Lite, while contributing to the development of a 3D library for standard plant items. Your attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team environment will be essential in delivering timely and accurate results.

Responsibilities:

  1. Produce detailed drawings in a timely manner, adhering to industry standards and client specifications.
  2. Develop and maintain a 3D library for standard plant items, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  3. Liaise with clients to discuss design details, ensuring quality control and validation of manufactured designs.
  4. Create detailed manufacturing drawings to assist fabrication, including general arrangements, part drawings, developments, and templates.
  5. Produce piping and steelwork fabrication drawings in the form of Isometrics, general arrangements, and orthographic.
  6. Review and check detailed design drawings of piping systems, supports, and steelwork, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
  7. Prepare and check bill of materials, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  8. Provide technical input during detailed engineering of projects, ensuring seamless collaboration with the team.
  9. Support and contribute to the preparation of manufacturing work packs, ensuring efficient production processes.

About You:

  1. Excellent working knowledge of SolidWorks, with CSWP/CSWE accreditation a plus.
  2. Good understanding of 2D CAD packages, such as AutoCAD, is desirable.
  3. Must have experience producing P&IDs or similar, with a strong attention to detail.
  4. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with excellent communication skills.
