Role Overview

We are seeking a Trust Doctor in Haematology to join our Clinical Haematology team at the Royal United Hospital, Bath. This is a whole-time post that offers the opportunity to gain further experience and training in Haematology, with a view to pursuing formal training in the field or establishing a longer-term role as part of a supportive team.

As a Trust Doctor, you will work under close Consultant supervision, in line with the 2021 changes to the haematology curriculum for training doctors in Haematology. Your responsibilities will include covering the inpatient ward, working in the laboratory, reviewing blood films and bone marrow slides, and providing liaison and advice to other Hospital teams.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Covering the inpatient ward
  2. Working in the day unit
  3. Providing liaison and advice to other Hospital teams
  4. Work in the laboratory (reviewing blood films and bone marrow slides)
  5. Review of patients in outpatient clinics

There will also be opportunities to learn specialist skills, such as bone marrow biopsy and lumbar puncture.
