About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and physically fit individual to join our grounds maintenance team as a Grounds Maintenance Operative. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality grounds maintenance services across South Gloucestershire.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake routine maintenance operations including grass cutting, hedge trimming, shrub border maintenance, and leaf clearance.
- Operate commercial powered hand tools and mobile plant, adhering to safe methods of work and relevant Health and Safety regulations.
- Assist in minor landscaping works, including planting of bedding, shrubs, and trees.
- Undertake routine maintenance of the council's cycle route network and assist in the collection of fly tips and emptying of bins.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a gardening or grounds role, with the ability to operate commercial professional grounds equipment.
- A full UK driving licence with experience of driving a long wheel-based transit (style) tipper.
- Ability to follow works instructions accurately and understand maps and plans.
- Core understanding of health and safety and the risks and hazards associated with the role.
