Role Description

Salary: £55,000 - £61,000 per annum.

We are seeking a highly skilled Community Wellbeing Director to join our team at Wigan Council. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead on key place-based public health programmes with stakeholders across wider public services and representatives of our community.

Your responsibilities will include influencing, advising, and providing action to Council, NHS, and other Wigan partners for a range of public health priorities including improvement, protection, resilience, climate, and addressing health inequalities.

About You
  • You will have a strong background in public health, acquired through relevant degree plus additional training or experience to master's level or equivalent.
  • You are registered, or willing to work towards registration, with the UK Public Health Register.
  • You have a proven track record of leading teams, coaching a culture of achievement, and motivating colleagues to achieve quality and high performance of the best outcomes for residents.
