Abuse Support Specialist

**Salary:** £8,923 per annum
**Job Description:**
This role involves working with our team to deliver high-quality support and accommodation to people fleeing domestic abuse, including their children. You will be the first point of contact for external inquiries, referrals, admissions, and resident interactions in the refuge accommodation.
**Responsibilities:**
- Ensure customers feel welcome and are aware of the support available as well as their responsibilities within the accommodation.
- Provide customer-focused practical and emotional support.
- Manage referrals, conduct risk assessments, and assign accommodation based on customer needs.
- Maintain customer-focused safety plans and risk management plans to ensure the customer and their family's safety while keeping accurate records.
- Respond to issues or emergencies in the refuge setting.
- Assess and respond to risk or safeguarding issues and record incidents appropriately.
- Support the team in meeting void targets by turning rooms around ready for new customers.
**Requirements:**
- A good standard of education, equivalent to GCSE English and Maths.
- Good ICT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Experience handling personal data and working in line with GDPR.
- Availability to work weekends, every Saturday and Sunday from 8.30am - 4.30pm.
- A genuine understanding of people in abusive relationships.
- Great communication skills to provide the best support and keep customers safe.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly.
- Able to work independently and remotely with great time management.
- Hold a full UK driving licence and have a vehicle suitable for business use.
- DBS check required.
