About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Consultant Physician in Stroke Medicine to join our multidisciplinary team at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with stroke and transient ischemic attack (TIA) symptoms.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in ward rounds, reviewing new patients, HASU patients for the first 72 hours, and ASU patients
- Conduct clinics, including stroke and TIA clinics, with a focus on patient assessment, diagnosis, and management
- Chair weekly stroke ward multidisciplinary team meetings
- Participate in regional out-of-hours on-call, using telemedicine, with a 1:12 rota including weekdays and weekends
- Conduct weekend ward rounds in the stroke unit on a 1:6 rota between Saturday and Sunday
Person Specification
- Full GMC registration
- MBBS or equivalent
- MRCP (UK) or equivalent
- Holds CCT or equivalent, or will obtain within 6 months of interview date
Desirable Qualifications
- MSc, MD, PhD
