Job Description

This teaching assistant role is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive secondary school environment. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will play a key part in delivering lessons and providing individual support to students who need additional help with their studies.

  • Deliver Lessons and Cover Classes: Ensure a smooth continuation of learning when teachers are absent.
  • Provide One-to-One and Small Group Support: Assist students with specific learning needs or those who require extra support.
  • Assist with Lesson Planning and Resource Preparation: Collaborate with teachers to develop engaging lessons that cater to diverse student needs.
  • Monitor and Assess Student Progress: Provide feedback and adapt teaching methods to best support students' development.
  • Help Manage Classroom Behaviour: Foster a positive and conducive learning environment for all students.
  • Support Students with Special Educational Needs (SEN): Work closely with the SEN department to provide tailored support as needed.
  • Lead Intervention Sessions or Extra-Curricular Activities: Enhance students' learning experiences through targeted interventions and activities.

This role requires a confident and independent individual who can work effectively as part of a team, possessing strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
