SEND Learning Support Assistant Opportunity

Milk Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our team of professionals working in fantastic SEND schools on a long-term supply basis in County Durham.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in and out of the classroom.
  • Assist in developing and implementing Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
  • Utilize structured teaching methods, visual aids, and autism-specific strategies to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages independence, social interaction, and emotional well-being.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers, SENCOs, and parents.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a consistent and effective approach to each student's development.
  • Support students in developing social skills, managing sensory sensitivities, and navigating daily school routines.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs as required, ensuring the dignity and well-being of each student.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a school or similar setting.
