About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will be responsible for carrying out venipuncture procedures in various settings, including patients' homes, care/nursing homes, and clinics.

You will work closely with our community healthcare teams to provide high-quality phlebotomy services, responding to requests and working independently with minimal clinical supervision.

The ideal candidate will have a full UK driving license and access to a fully insured vehicle, as you will be required to travel to different locations.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Carry out venipuncture procedures in various settings, including patients' homes, care/nursing homes, and clinics.
  2. Respond to phlebotomy requests and work independently with minimal clinical supervision.
  3. Work closely with community healthcare teams to provide high-quality phlebotomy services.
  4. Travel to different locations using your own vehicle, which must be fully insured for business use.
Requirements
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of the nursing and medical workforce within the community.
  • Knowledge of GP practices and community clinics.
  • Experience of working in the community.
  • Previous phlebotomy experience is not essential, as full training will be provided.
