About the Role
Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Surveyor to join our client's team in Cardiff. As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing building surveying commissions, including surveys, dilapidations, contract administration, project management, and technical due diligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage building surveying commissions, including surveys, dilapidations, contract administration, project management, and technical due diligence.
- Manage client relationships on a project-by-project basis, with a focus on Net Zero schemes.
- Contract management, including JCT & NEC.
- Provide professional advice on property condition, defects, maintenance, and repair strategies, statutory compliance, and sustainability issues.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor junior staff and support their professional development.
- Contribute to business development and marketing activities as the organization looks to grow its presence in South Wales.
Requirements
- A degree in building surveying or construction management.
- A chartered membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent such as the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
- A minimum of five years of post-qualification experience in building surveying, preferably in the education sector.
- A proven track record of delivering complex maintenance projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- A full UK driving license and willingness to travel across South Wales.
What You'll Get in Return
- A competitive salary up to £60,000 per annum based on experience and number of years held chartership, as well as benefits package, pension, healthcare, and bonus scheme.
- 25 days annual leave with additional bank holidays.
