Job Overview

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
  • Undertake assessments to identify the need for CMHT care and treatment under the Care Act 2014 and Care Programme Approach.
  • Develop and implement care plans that promote recovery and social inclusion.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that our service users receive the best possible care and support.
  • Provide supervision to junior staff and students on placement.
  • Participate in risk assessment and formulation of risk management plans.
  • Participate in staff inductions to develop the skills and knowledge of newly qualified nursing staff.
Person Specification

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual who has experience in community mental health work. You will need to have a professional qualification in Social Work, Mental Health Nursing, or Occupational Therapy and be registered with the HCPC or NMC.

You will also need to have experience in supervision and be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.

Desirable Criteria

We would also like to hear from individuals who have experience of leading a team or acting up. If you have a post-basic qualification and training, PSI training, MSLAP or equivalent Mentor training, or AMHP, this would be an advantage.

Knowledge

You will need to have extensive knowledge of social inclusion and recovery models of care, as well as experience in working with people with moderate to severe mental health needs.

You will also need to have knowledge of mental health legislation and experience of MDT working. If you have experience of managing or participating in change, this would be an advantage.

Skills and Abilities

You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

You will also need to have the ability to care coordinate and be responsible for a caseload, as well as the ability to supervise junior staff and students on placement.

Work-Related Circumstances

You will need to have the ability to use a car or access to a means of mobility to travel across the Trust footprint in line with service needs.

You will also need to be willing to carry out all duties and responsibilities of the post in accordance with the Trust's Equal Opportunities and Equality and Diversity policies.
