Job Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support to students with ASD, both inside and outside the classroom. You will work closely with teachers to implement individual education plans and ensure students make progress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with ASD
  • Work with teachers to develop and implement individual education plans
  • Assist in the development of students' social, emotional, and personal skills
  • Communicate effectively with learners and their parents/carers
  • Manage behaviour positively and patiently to foster a conducive learning environment
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Learning Support, or willingness to work towards this qualification
  • Youth Worker qualification or the willingness to work towards one
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with parents
  • Experience working with ASD learners is desirable but not essential
  • A positive attitude and commitment to professional development in the field of special education
