Payroll and Accounts Assistant

A well-established business based in the North of England is seeking a Payroll and Accounts Assistant to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and processing monthly salaries and hourly payrolls, as well as supporting the Finance Manager and wider finance team to deliver monthly accounts.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain the payroll processing system and records on a monthly basis
- Ensure adherence to payroll policies and procedures, and compliance with relevant legislation
- Identify, investigate and resolve any discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records
- Provide support to employees on wages, deductions, attendance and time records
- Prepare monthly payroll reports and analysis, and post journals to the general ledger
- Make monthly payments to HMRC for PAYE and other organisations
- Support the wider Finance Team with monthly reports, sales ledger, purchase ledger, aged debt reports and other relevant tasks
We are looking for an individual with experience in Payroll and general Accounts Administration, including Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. The role is easily commutable via car from surrounding areas.
