About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Eating Disorders Service as part of our community treatment team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other team members to provide high-quality care to individuals with eating disorders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, including risk assessment and monitoring, to inform treatment planning.
  • Develop and implement individual and group psychological interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and other evidence-based approaches.
  • Provide consultancy and supervision to staff in mental health services, promoting best practice and quality improvement.
  • Contribute to service audit and evaluation, including research and guidance on relevant projects.

Person Specification

  • Qualified Clinical Psychologist with Chartered Psychologist status.
  • Training in assessment and treatment of eating disorders.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to assess general mental health and psychopathology, including personality disorder.
  • Ability to assess and manage psychiatric risk associated with self-harm.
  • Knowledge of eating disorder patients and awareness of NICE guidelines.
  • Ability to assess eating disorder symptoms and recognition of potential medical complications.

Experience

  • Experience of working with patients with eating disorders.
  • Experience of group-based treatments.
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
