As a Culinary Experience Leader at Compass UK & Ireland, you will have the opportunity to shape the food service experience for our clients and customers in schools across the UK. We are seeking an ambitious Chef to join our team on a part-time basis, contracted to 22.5 hours per week.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about great-tasting food and exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food that delights our clients and customers, as well as overseeing and implementing menu changes to improve our food services.

We estimate the salary for this role to be around £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience. If you have a City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent, experience supervising a team, and a flexible approach to working, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing delicious, high-quality food that meets the needs of our clients and customers
  • Overseeing and implementing menu changes to improve our food services
  • Identifying opportunities to improve our food services and taking action to address them
  • Listening and acting on customer feedback to consistently improve our food services
  • Supporting with the creation of new menus and creative food concepts
  • Representing Chartwells and maintaining a positive brand image
  • Monitoring inventories to keep our kitchens well-stocked
  • Overseeing kitchen cleaning responsibilities to maintain hygiene standards
  • Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations
