Job Opportunity: Counsellor

Our client, a leading provider of innovative programmes and projects, is seeking a skilled Counsellor to join their team at their new residential service in Oxfordshire.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity is for a Counsellor to provide support for individuals recovering from drug or alcohol misuse through one-to-one counselling and group work. The post holder will also carry out strength-based assessments, work with individuals to create care plans, and promote visible recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support for individuals recovering from drug or alcohol misuse through one-to-one counselling and group work.
  • Carry out strength-based assessments and work with individuals to create care plans.
  • Promote visible recovery and provide supervision of academic placements.
  • Work with individuals to develop skills and competencies in mental health care.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have good office IT skills and experience working in the substance misuse field or similar. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals and teams.

This role will be working in a women's-only residential service, specialising in providing safe therapeutic environments for those who have experienced multiple disadvantage and those who have experienced past trauma. Therefore, there is an Operational Requirement for this role to be fulfilled by a female (determined compliant under ACAS guidelines for recruiting applicants with a protected characteristic to do a certain job).
