Job Summary:

The Commonwealth of Virginia invites applications for a Research Assistant Professor position in the Frank Reidy Research Center for Bioelectrics at Old Dominion University. This is a 10-month non-tenure appointment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cutting-edge experimental biomedical research in the area of bioelectrics, reporting results at scientific forums and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Compete for extramural grant funding and collaborate with colleagues at the Frank Reidy Research Center for Bioelectrics and beyond.
  • Develop and implement research projects, including designing experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting results.
  • Collaborate with other researchers and faculty members to advance the mission of the Frank Reidy Research Center for Bioelectrics.
  • Contribute to the development of research proposals and grant applications.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field, such as bioelectrics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in bioelectrics or related research, with a proven record of research published in peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and students.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
  • Experience with grant writing and management, with a strong track record of securing extramural funding.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a principal investigator or co-principal investigator on extramural grants.
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring, with a strong commitment to student success.
  • Experience with research administration, including budget management and personnel supervision.
